Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for May 21 to 27:

Between May 9 and 20, a thief broke into a cabin located at Egmont Point and stole a 30 horsepower EZ 3500 Honda generator, an Edson 12-feet long aluminium boat, a telescope and tripod, some gardening material and several bottles of alcohol including a dozen bottles of home brew wine.

The generator was later found hidden in the bushes and returned to the owner.

Overnight on May 21, a suspect gained access into a business in the 1000 block of Venture Way in Gibsons by cutting through a fence and then breaking a window to a trailer office; however, nothing was stolen.

On May 22, a male reported his vehicle stolen from a business in the 1000 block of Gibsons Way. The male told police that he had parked and left the keys in the vehicle an hour prior and now the vehicle was gone. Police attended and after a quick search of the small parking lot, located the vehicle parked where the male had left it. Police pointed the forgetful male towards his vehicle and advised he take his keys with him in future.

On May 24, police attended a single-vehicle collision in the 14700 block of Highway 101 in Egmont. The vehicle, which was heavily damaged, had flipped over after losing control while the driver was travelling southbound and struck a rocky outcrop. The lone driver and occupant, who was unhurt, exhibited signs of intoxication and after failing two roadside alcohol screening tests, was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

On May 26, an alleged impaired driver in the 5700 block of Wharf Road in Sechelt was caught after he almost struck a police vehicle while exiting a parking lot. Police pulled the vehicle over and found the driver to be exhibiting signs of intoxication. The driver failed two roadside alcohol-screening tests and was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Between March 27 and May 27, a thief stole an assortment of items from a cabin in Egmont Point. Amongst the stolen items was a green Coleman propane lantern, a blue and white plastic cooler and a shovel.
