Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for June 19 to July 1:
On June 19, police attended a motor vehicle incident involving a pedestrian in the 900 block of Gibsons Way.
The driver of a left turning truck advised he had entered the intersection, didn't see anyone in the crosswalk and turned his attention to on-coming traffic when he heard a thud and saw a female pedestrian on his hood. The pedestrian, who was not seriously injured, was reading her phone while crossing the road and advised she did not see the truck until it hit her. A witness confirmed that the pedestrian was looking down at her phone and just walked in front of the truck.
The driver was issued a violation ticket for fail to yield to a pedestrian.
On June 26, police received a 9-1-1 call from an intoxicated male reporting a teenage couple in blue robes had broken into his residence in the 500 block of Gibsons Way.
Police determined the male was actually standing outside a residence on Park Road in Gibsons, looking in and startling an elderly couple inside their own home. The elderly couple also called police to report the strange male on their patio, and the male fled before police arrived. The male was located and arrested for being intoxicated in public. He was very apologetic once sober and was released without charge.
Overnight on June 26, a thief stole a flat deck trailer that was parked in the 1200 block of Lockyer Road in Roberts Creek. The trailer, with BC Licence Plate 805-68C, is a black 2011 Rainbow make, has the words "Sunrise Trailer" on the front and a work box on the deck. The box contained a number of items including grease tubes and grease guns, a fire extinguisher and scaffold.

Overnight on June 27, a thief stole a blue Ford Taurus station wagon, BC licence plate 758-TKX from an address in the 5900 block of Garden Bay Road.

On June 27, a two-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 101 in Halfmoon Bay after a vehicle suddenly entered the highway from Trout Lake Road in front of a westbound truck, causing the truck to have to brake hard and swerve to avoid a collision.
The truck struck the rear driver's side of the vehicle, which caused the vehicle to spin 360 degrees and into the south-side ditch. The truck driver was unhurt, but the vehicle driver was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries and her vehicle was towed.
Witnesses corroborated the sequence of events and the vehicle driver was issued a violation ticket for emerging vehicle fail to stop.
On June 28, police set up a roadblock on Highway 101 at Monkey Tree Lane and stopped three drivers suspected of being impaired. The drivers were all given roadside-alcohol screening tests; two drivers received "warn" results and one driver received a "fail" reading.
The "warn" drivers were issued three-day immediate roadside prohibitions (IRP) and the "fail" driver received a 90-day IRP.
On June 30, police set up a roadblock on Highway 101 at Largo Road and stopped two drivers exhibiting signs of intoxication.
One driver admitted consuming alcohol shortly before getting into her vehicle. Both drivers were issued roadside alcohol-screening tests, which resulted in "fail" readings. Both drivers were issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and their vehicles were impounded for 30 days.
On July 1, police received separate complaints about an erratic vehicle that appeared to be full of intoxicated people.
Police were unable to locate the vehicle in the first instance, but after receiving a second call, found the vehicle in the 5200 block of Selma Park Road in Sechelt.
The "N" driver, who was not intoxicated, advised he had been the designated driver for friends that evening. The driver was warned about his driving behaviour and issued violation tickets for fail to display "N" and drive contrary to restrictions.
On July 1, a report of an erratic southbound driver on Highway 101 near Marlene Road was made to RCMP. The suspect driver, who was witnessed swerving in traffic, crossing over into the on-coming lane, and attempting to make a dangerous pass, was pulled over in Gibsons.
The driver, who was exhibiting impaired behaviour, was impaired by drugs and issued a 24-hour driving suspension. The driver's vehicle was towed home.
