Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for Feb. 7 to 14: A possible impaired driver was reported on Shorncliffe Avenue near Highway 101.

Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for Feb. 7 to 14:

A possible impaired driver was reported on Shorncliffe Avenue near Highway 101. The witness reported seeing the vehicle swerving and bouncing off the curb before parking on the wrong side of the road. An officer located the suspect driver, who was not intoxicated, but admitted she'd been eatingsoup that had she spilled on her legs, causing her to drive erratically. The driver was warned about her actions.

Overnight on Feb. 4, vandals broke a side view mirror of a car and tore a cloth boat canopy located at a residence in the 6900 block of Porpoise Drive.

Overnight on Feb. 8 a vandal used a rock to smash a window at a business in the 5600 block of Cowrie Street. No other damage was reported and no entry was gained.

On Feb. 10, a male was witnessed dumping concrete near the power lines up Trout Lake Road. The male, who was cooperative with police, admitted he'd been dumping concrete thereas he didn't know where else to dump it. The male was advised that the matter would be referred to the localconservation office.

An off-duty officer witnessed a possible impaired driver collide into a sign on Highway 101 near Francis Peninsula Road before pulling over. The off-duty officer remained on scene untilthe investigating officer arrived.The male, who was exhibiting signs of intoxication, agreed to provide breath samples. The file is still under investigation.

On Feb. 10, a male suspect was witnessed stealingtwo bottles of alcohol from a business in the 400 block of Marine Drive. Police are reviewing surveillance video footage.

On Feb. 11, a witness reported seeing a couple of youth taking an eight-foot long pencil from beside the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives on Winn Road in Gibsons and using it as a battering ram to punch holes in the side walls of an access ramp. The youth were located nearby and questioned. Two of the youth admitted to the mischief. The youth were advised on the possible criminal charges of mischief they could face, but due to the youth accepting responsibility for their action, and for lack of any prior criminal history, the matter has been referred to the Restorative Justice program.

On Feb. 12, RCMP assisted the fire department at a structure fire in the 800 block of Maskell Road in Roberts Creek. Thefire isbelieved to have beencaused by anelectrical issue. No one was injured, and the fire is not considered suspicious.

An on-duty officer came across a single vehicle incident on Highway 101 near Largo Road. A witness, who saw the vehicle veer slowly into the ditch and tiponto its roof,had stopped to offer assistance to the driver and lone occupant, who was trapped in the vehicle. The driver, who was conscious, advised she'd fallen asleep while driving.Ambulance and fire assisted with the extraction of the driver and she was airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital for assessment. No violation ticket was issued.

On Feb. 14, a report was received of two Shetland ponies found up Branch6 of Roberts Flume Forest Service Road. The ponies were too spooked to be captured.
