Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for March 28 to April 3:

RCMP have been advised of "bottle bombs" which have been found in various locations on the Coast. The homemade incendiary devices are made of pop bottles and may contain household liquids or substances such as drain cleaner, which, under the right conditions, could explode. Anyone finding any such items, often stopped with tin foil, should not touch or move the object in question. Contact RCMP at 604-885-2266 to request assistance with removal of these and any suspicious items.

Between March 26 and 29, a thief stole an orange Brodie 'rocket' mountain bike from an open garage located in the 7900 block of Connor Road in Halfmoon Bay. The bike has a 21" frame, tool pouch and a tear in the seat.

On March 30, two iPhones were stolen during a public event held in the 800 block of Gibsons Way. One of the phones had a GPS tracking device and was located in West Sechelt, under some bushes. Police located a suspect for the theft of the recovered iPhone, but the second white iPhone (which has been disabled by the service provide) is still missing.

On March 31, a thief smashed a window of a vehicle parked in the 5700 block of Naylor Road in Sechelt and stole two energy drinks which were left inside. There was nothing else stolen from the vehicle

Sometime in the last few months, a thief stole a large amount of cedar siding from a residence in the 300 block of Herring Road in Sechelt.

On March 31, a witness saw a male gaining entry into an unlocked vehicle parked in the 5500 block of Wharf Road in Sechelt. The suspect fled on foot once he realized he'd been seen. The owner of the vehicle was located, and he confirmed that nothing appeared to be missing from his vehicle, even though an iPad and cell phone had been left inside. The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, about 5'11," wearing a grey hoodie and black jacket and small back pack.

On April 1, a vandal deflated a tire of vehicle parked in the 5700 block of Kwatamus Avenue in Sechelt. Witnesses saw the male suspect, described as about 5'9," 180 pounds, dressed in black, but a search of the area was negative.

On April 1, a witness reported a possible impaired driver on Gibsons Way near Pratt Road. The witness advised the vehicle was swerving in its lane. Police located the suspect vehicle and driver in Langdale, and determined the driver was not impaired. However, the driver did advise he'd been talking to his passengers while driving. Police remind drivers to consider and minimize distractions while on the road.

On April 2, RCMP received several reports of a stranded kite-surfer who appeared tobe in distress in Davis Bay. RCMP spoke tofriends of the kite-surfer who maintained that they felt he was not in distress,however police feltotherwise as he continued to drift away from shore, appeared to be having equipment issues and had been in the water for upwards of three hours. Coast Guard was called and rescued the kite-surfer, who was treated on-scene by paramedics for exposure.
