Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for May 29 to June 3: On May 29, a resident in the 1500 block of North Road in Gibsons reported a bike had been left on his property. The bike is a women's model.

On May 29, a resident in the 1500 block of North Road in Gibsons reported a bike had been left on his property. The bike is a women's model. Owner may claim with detailed description, reference Sunshine Coast file 13-3316.

On May 30, a thief gained entry to an unlocked vehicle parked near the Skookumchuk trail in Egmont and stole a purse that had been left inside. The purse contained a large assortment of identification, credit cards and cash.

On May 31, police received several reports of a possible impaired driver travelling back and forth on Highway 101 between Gibsons and Sechelt. Witnesses reported the suspect driver weaving back and forth in her lane, sometimes into the path of oncoming traffic, driving at erratic speeds, failing to stop properly at intersections and being slow to respond to traffic light changes.

Police located the suspect vehicle in Sechelt and spoke with the driver who was not impaired. The driver advised she'd been distracted by her grandchild. The driver was given a verbal warning to concentrate on her driving and to perhaps put her grandchild in the back seat if he was proving to be such a distraction.

After receiving more complaints about this same driver and vehicle later, police located the driver and issued her a violation ticket for drive without consideration. A driver's licence review has also been requested.

On June 3, police received more complaints about this same driver. The driver was located and given another violation ticket for failure to keep right and a second request for driver's testing has been sent to the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles.

On June 1, a hit-and-run accident occurred in the 400 block of Highway 101 after a white mini van backed into a parked car. The mini-van driver fled the scene without stopping or leaving any information for the owner of the damaged vehicle.

The suspect vehicle would have sustained damage to a taillight.

On June 2, a witness reported a speeding vehicle heading towards the ferry terminal on North Road in Gibsons. Police located the vehicle speeding down the by-pass in Langdale and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, who did not have valid insurance on his vehicle, was issued a violation ticket for no insurance and speeding. The vehicle was towed and impounded until the owner obtains the necessary insurance.

Sometime since mid-May, a thief stole an older model 12-foot long aluminium boat from the Sandy Hook boat launch. The cream-coloured boat had the owner's telephone number engraved on the stern. Anyone with any information about this theft is asked to contact RCMP, reference file number 13-3422.

On June 1, a thief gained entry to an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1300 block of Roberts Creek Road and stole a purse. Most of the purse contents were later found strewn on Roberts Creek Beach except for the owner's driver's licence, a bank card, cash and a pair of earrings.

On June 3, a shoplifter stole merchandise from a business in the 5700 block of Teredo Street in Sechelt by concealing it in his clothing and leaving while staff were busy with other clients. Police are reviewing surveillance footage.

On June 3, a thief stole a purse and an iPhone from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 5500 block of Inlet Avenue in Sechelt while the owner ran into a nearby business for a few minutes. The iPhone was located later by GPS tracking in the 5800 block of Sechelt Inlet Road. The purse and most if its contents were later recovered after the suspect approached the owner and attempted to sell the purse back to her. The owner gave police a description of the suspect, and he was later located and arrested. The file is still under investigation.
