On May 15, RCMP attended a two-vehicle accident on Highway 101 at Selma Park Road after a northbound vehicle stopped to make a left onto Selma Park Road was rear-ended by a second vehicle. The driver and passenger of the first vehicle and the driver of the second vehicle were all taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries and both vehicles had to be towed.

The driver of the second vehicle was issued a violation ticket for driving without due care and consideration.

On May 15, police attended a pedestrian-vehicle accident in the 800 block of Reed Road in Gibsons after a driver was pinned against a garage doorby his own vehicle which had rolled forward afterbeing left in neutral with the keys in the ignition.

A passerby pushed the truck off the male, andthe malewas taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Sechelt and later, Vancouver General Hospital, for injuries to his legs. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor. The file is still under investigation.

Sometime between May 13 and 15, a thief stole a new patio table and umbrella from an address in the 5300 block of Highway 101. The table has a round black metal frame and glass top and the umbrella was made of beige canvas.

On May 17, a shoplifter was reported at a business in the 5500 block of Highway 101after amale with an unknown number of stolen items in a duffel bag fled the premises on foot. The thief is described as a male in his 40's, wearing all black clothing, a black hat, with a mustache, slightly balding, about 5'8" tall with a slim build. The male was last seen heading towards the waterfront. Police are reviewing surveillance footage.

RCMP attended to a possible impaired driving incident near Byng Road in Roberts Creek after a witness reported a vehicle swerving all over the place and driving at erratic speeds. Police located the suspect vehicle and spoke with the driver, who was clearly not impaired, but admitted to trying to get something out of her pocketwhich caused her to swerve and drive erratically. No violation ticket was issued.

On the late afternoon of May 18, an on-duty officer stopped at the intersection of Garden Bay Road and Irvines Landing Road witnessed a vehicle come around the corner at an extreme rate of speed.

Thevehicle, whichregistered on radar to be travellingalmost double the posted speed limit, appeared to lose control and drove onto the shoulder. The officer activated his emergency equipment and the vehicle pulled over. The "N" driver, who exhibited signs of intoxication, was detained for possible impaired driving andprovided breath samples which showed his blood alcohol leveltobemore than double the legal limit. The file is still under investigation.

On May 19th,a thief stole a registered .22 calibre Ruger 10-22 handgun, cash, and aniPodfrom a campsite near Richardson Lake. The handgun, which had a yellow cable lock on it, has a wood stock, the receiver ispainted electric blue, and the sight at the front of the barrel has been grounddown. It has abipod target and 3x9 powered scope. Anyone with any information about this theft is asked to contact RCMP at 604-885-2266 and reference file 12-3146.
