Prolific offender Trey Watters was sentenced May 9 to 120 days jail time after pleading guilty to numerous charges, including break and enter, mischief and possession of a controlled substance.
RCMP issued a public warning on April 20 when two warrants were issued for the 20-year-old's arrest. He was wanted for a breach of probation as well as a failure to abide by curfew. Police believed he was evading them.
Sechelt Provincial Court is listed by court services as having 27 files related to Watters' numerous appearances, dating back to June 22, 2010.
Creek arsons
Michel Brule will be sentenced May 22 after pleading guilty to charges including two counts of arson damaging property, four counts of arson in relation to inhabited property, theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
The charges relate to his admitted involvement in two Roberts Creek residential fires that happened on March 8.
Firefighters were called out to a garage fire on Richards Road minutes before a second fire was reported on Kraus Road.
According to Sunshine Coast RCMP, witnesses reported that Brule, who was living in the renovated garage on Kraus Road, intended to move to Powell River by the end of the week. Brule had left the scene and an uninsured pickup truck was noted as missing from the property.
Police were able to ping Brule's phone and ascertain his whereabouts before he was apprehended at a motel in Madeira Park.
The fires required the aid of 14 volunteer firefighters to extinguish.
Damage included destruction of the renovated suite as well as a large boat.
