Verna Adolph notches another Bo Peep win

Verna Adolph was more focused on having fun than on placing first in the Bo Peep ladies' golf tournament last weekend.Adolph took first place in the low gross category for the 'A' flight with 88 strokes at the 18-hole tournament, held Saturday, June 3 at the Lillooet Golf Course. She said enjoying the afternoon in the sun was all the reward she needed.

"It's about coming out and having fun," she said of the tournament. "It's about enjoying the game of golf."

A total of 35 ladies played in the tournament, with prizes handed out to every golfer at the end of the day.

In first place for low net 'A' was Denise Sheridan, who finished with 65 strokes. In the 'B' flight, Andrea Fenton was first for low gross with 104, while Jan McIvor was first for low net with 66. In the 'C' category, Nora Greenway was first for low net with 78 strokes.

Leanna Layton thanked all the golfers who participated, as well as the staff at the Lillooet Golf Course and volunteers Jim McKay, Tony Adolph, Terry Miller, and Glenn Pfeifer.

She also thanked fellow golfers Diana Adolph, Marguerite Parker, Cheryl Bowling, and Ida Foisy for their assistance in organizing the tournament. "I couldn't have done it without all of you," she said.
