On Nov. 20, Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDR), 15 people gathered at Mission Point Park to memorialize those killed as a result of transphobia and to draw attention to violence against people who are transgender. Those in attendance shared prayers, song, and reflections on the significance of the day. TDR was founded in the U.S. in 1999 and vigils are now held in countries around the world. The Sechelt event was organized by Sunday in the Park with Pride Society.
