A phone call from a concerned neighbour resulted in the recovery of two stolen trailers on the Sunshine Coast, Oct. 15.

One of the campers had been stolen from Chilliwack, while the other was a construction trailer from Halfmoon Bay, Sunshine Coast RCMP said in a press release. RCMP stated that one of the trailers had thousands of dollars in tools and household belongings inside.

Police arrested one person at the scene and seized both trailers as well as an older model black GMC pick up truck that had been associated with the thefts.

Following an investigation, RCMP found that the Halfmoon Bay residence where the construction trailer had been stolen from had also been broken into multiple times, said the release.

The investigation is still under way and the RCMP is asking anyone who has dashcam footage or exterior video surveillance of the roads in the area of Westwood Road and Wildwood Road or Eureka and Redroofs Road in Halfmoon Bay on Oct. 15 between 3 and 5 a.m. to call Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266.
