With tax season here the Canadian Revenue Agency and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Authority are once again teaming up to offer the community volunteer income tax program.

Volunteers are trained to assist low-income seniors, individuals and families in preparing their income tax returns from March 1 to April 30.

Volunteers will complete tax returns, free of charge, for low-income Individuals earning less than $30,000 and families earning less than $40,000 in 2012. The program does not serve clients with self-employment income, rental property income or capital gains. Interest income must be less than $1,000.

There are two options for eligible clients: a drop off option where clients drop off all tax information including T-slips and fill out the client intake forms.

You can do those at the VCH Home and Community Care Office located at 5630 Inlet Avenue in Sechelt Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Sechelt Visitor Information Centre (located next to the Seaside Centre) at 5790 Teredo Street in Sechelt Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and also at the VCH Health Unit at 494 South Fletcher in Gibsons Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
