Suspect arrested after foot chase at Sunshine Coast Canadian Tire

Sunshine Coast RCMP arrested a suspect in a break-and-enter at the ts'ukw'um (Wilson Creek) Canadian Tire following a foot chase around the building and across the highway, according to an RCMP press release.

Sunshine Coast RCMP arrested a suspect in a break-and-enter at the ts'ukw'um (Wilson Creek) Canadian Tire following a foot chase around the building and across the highway, according to an RCMP press release.

The RCMP responded to an alarm at the Canadian Tire at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. They saw a broken window and a man, who then fled out from the store. 

The police apprehended Lukas Kenworthy (aka Luke Carter), 24, who is in custody and facing charges of "break and enter, obstruct police and assaulting a police officer," said the release. 

A stolen Kia Sedona was located on-scene and believed to be related to the officence, said the release. 

The police are looking for surveillance footage in the area of Canadian Tire between midnight and 3:30 a.m. or witnesses who were in the vicinity. Anyone with information can call the RCMP non-emergency line, 604-885-2266.
