Two people received minor injuries after an accident in the Selma Park area of Sechelt on March 31.
On Sunday afternoon, Sunshine Coast RCMP, the Sechelt fire department and paramedics attended a single-vehicle collision on Highway 101 near Heather Road.
The vehicle had been travelling southbound when the driver began feeling faint, causing her to drive off the right-hand side of the roadway, down an embankment, before striking a tree, said Cpl. Steve Chubey in a media release. The female driver, 73 and male passenger, 82, were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted by Sechelt fire department personnel. Both sustained minor injuries and were taken to St. Mary's Hospital for precautionary reasons.
The investigation is on-going.
