A new investment in Sechelt to upgrade the accessibility of the Rockwood Centre under the enabling accessibilities project funding program of HRSDC was officially announced this week.

A total of $42,017 will go to the Rockwood Centre to provide needed funds to upgrade walkways, install handicap parking signs, and add handrails and lamps to walkways.

"Today's announcement reflects my ongoing work to reflect local priorities such as economic stimulus and accessibility, things that are important to the Sunshine Coast," said John Weston member of Parliament for West Vancouver-Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country.

Sechelt Mayor Darren Inkster broke the news to the community during the March 2 Sechelt council meeting.

"I just got off the phone with our MP with this good news," said Inkster at the meeting. "This is more good news for our community."
