A 54-year-old Sechelt man was arrested and is facing charges for an indecent act and exposure to a person under 16 years of age after an incident at a bus stop in Sechelt on Friday night, Aug. 9.
According to Sunshine Coast RCMP, officers responded to a report of a man masturbating at the bus stop located on Cowrie Street and Trail Avenue in Sechelt around 8 p.m. last Friday.
"The alleged act was witnessed by two youths who immediately reported it to a nearby business, who subsequently called the police," said Cpl. Steve Chubey. "Police responded and immediately identified the suspect based on the description provided by the witnesses."
The man has since been released by a Judicial Justice of the Peace on a recognizance and will appear in Sechelt provincial court on Sept. 9.
RCMP believes that there may be more witnesses to this incident and are urging anyone who may have witnessed this act to contact Const. Josh Talbot at 604-885-2266.
