Sechelt intersection closed after collision involving pedestrian

Police have closed off Highway 101 from Cowrie Street to Inlet Avenue because of a serious collision at the Inlet Avenue intersection.

Part of Highway 101 in Sechelt is closed Thursday following a collision involving a pedestrian. 

The incident at the Highway 101 intersection with Inlet Avenue occurred shortly after 11 a.m.

BC Emergency Health Services, Sechelt Fire Department, RCMP and District of Sechelt staff responded to the incident. 

The incident appeared to involve a motorized mobility scooter and a pick up truck. 

As of 12:40 p.m. the road was still closed from where the highway meets Cowrie Street to Beach Street. RCMP are on scene. 

Buses rerouted

BC Transit has advised that Routes 2 (West Sechelt), 3 (Sechelt Arena), and 4 (Halfmoon Bay) are being rerouted because of the incident. 

The following stops will not be serviced at this time:

  • Trail at Sherlock
  • Trail at Netpune 
  • Teredo at Burley
  • Shorncliffe at Barnacle
