The Sechelt Chamber of Commerce will be hosting two events to assist local voters in being informed of the local issues and getting to know the candidates.
On Wednesday, Nov. 2, the Chamber will host the mayoralty candidates at a luncheon. Tickets are going fast, so contact the Chamber for details at 604-885-0662.
Then on Thursday, Nov. 10, the Chamber, Coast TV and Coast Reporter will host a live TV event at the Chatelech Secondary School Theatre in Sechelt. Candidates for council will run for one hour and 30 minutes, and the mayoralty candidates will have one hour.
The forum will be shown again after Nov. 10 on Coast TV to enable everyone to have an informed vote. Questions for the live event will be accepted in writing prior to 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7. No questions will be accepted after Nov. 7. Questions will not be accepted at the event. To submit questions for this all-candidates forum, please email [email protected].
Coast Reporter is also planning to organize and host three forums in the coming weeks for the Town of Gibsons council and mayoralty candidates, for School District No. 46 candidates and for the Sunshine Coast Regional District candidates. Once details are finalized, more information will be provided in next week's edition.
