Lori Pratt has served her last meeting as the board chair of the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD).

At the Oct. 28 board meeting, Pratt announced that she will not be seeking re-election for board chair again, saying she needs to focus on the community and make sure their voices are heard.

“I have a lot of outreach that I need to work on with them,” she said, adding that she has been privileged and honoured to be the chair for the past three years.

Pratt, who is also the Halfmoon Bay director, has been the board chair since the 2018 election. She was nominated for the position by Sechelt director Darnelda Siegers, who was the vice chair at the time. Pratt was acclaimed as the chair in 2020.

Sechelt director Alton Toth was elected as the vice chair in 2020, when Siegers opted not to run for the position again.

The SCRD directors are scheduled to vote in a new board chair and vice chair for 2022 at the Nov. 4 board meeting.
