Brian Sadler is throwing his hat in the ring again, announcing this week his candidacy for Gibsons council in the Nov. 19 municipal election.
"Encouraged by many residents I encounter during my frequent daily dog-walks around the town, and by many others who have monitored my communications with our local media, I feel that I must offer my candidacy in an attempt to rejuvenate and invigorate our local political system," said the 13-year Gibsons resident. "Additionally, having attended Wayne Rowe's announcement of his candidacy for mayor on Sept. 24, I am increasingly motivated towards assisting in bringing a true collegial approach to proper and sensitive governance for the Town of Gibsons.
"Wayne Rowe understands and believes that loyalty is a two-way concept, both upwards and downwards, and that trustworthiness is an essential attribute of an elected representative. I wholeheartedly agree with this approach, and I would wish to assist him through both individual and cooperative contributions as a member of council."
Sadler ran unsuccessfully in the Nov. 15, 2008 municipal election. In December 2008, he was part of a petition filed in Vancouver Supreme Court against the Town in an effort to overturn the council portion of the election. The petition was thrown out of court after a month-long trial in February, 2009.
