Two incidents in Sechelt last weekend involving youth in masks has the RCMP seeking witnesses.

Both incidents were the evening of Saturday, March 9, said a March 12 press release.

The first incident was at approximately 10:15 and 10:45 p.m. in the Trail Bay Mall parking lot near Cowrie and Trail Avenue and involved five to seven young people wearing masks. Two youth repeatedly jumped on the hood of a car before fleeing the scene, said the release.

At 10:50 p.m., three youth wearing dark clothes and face masks approached a woman walking her dog in the 5600 block of Inlet Avenue. One youth threw a water bottle at the woman while another one shot at her with what RCMP suspect may have been a Gel Blaster – a toy gun similar to airsoft guns that shoots polymer water beads. The youths then fled on foot through the nearby carwash into the alley.

RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed the group in the area or who has dashcam footage to please call the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266.
