Sunshine Coast RCMP are looking for a person of interest after a suspicious incident in the A&W parking lot in Gibsons Friday, Sept. 18.
RCMP say an unknown man was sitting in his vehicle and offered a bite of his hamburger to a five-year-old boy. When the boy's grandfather noticed the incident, the man drove away.
RCMP describe the man as: a 5'9" caucasian, approximately 40 years old with a medium build, blond hair and scruffy facial hair. He was last seen in an older model shiny blue sedan.
Anyone who can help identify the man is asked to call RCMP at 604-885-2266 and quote file number 2009-6911.
Pedestrian struck
A young girl was hospitalized Thursday afternoon, Sept. 17 after being struck by a car on Gibsons Way.
Sunshine Coast RCMP say a 16-year-old girl was hit around 11:30 a.m. as she was trying to cross Gibsons Way at Shaw Road. A driver turning left from the Sunnycrest Mall parking lot failed to stop for the young woman, knocking her to the pavement.
She was treated for non-life threatening injuries at St. Mary's Hospital. The driver has been charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian.
