Sunshine Coast RCMP and the Sechelt volunteer fire department are releasing more details this week about a vehicle fire that took place in Sechelt in late August.
The information comes after several inquires to RCMP and Coast Reporter.
According to RCMP, the fire department requested the assistance of the RCMP for an abandoned vehicle, a jeep, which was set on fire at the end of Reservoir Road in Sechelt on Aug. 26.
"By the time fire crews arrived on scene, the vehicle was completely burned," said Cpl. Steve Chubey. "Police were unable to locate a licence plate or vehicle identification number on the vehicle and have since been in contact with ICBC. The investigation is on-going."
