Sunshine Coast RCMP are investigating two reports of mischief that occurred in Gibsons, in which vandals 'tagged' a cube van off Gibsons Way and the public washrooms at Wynegaert Park.

The first incident occurred between May 5 and 6 off the 800 block of Gibsons Way when vandals spray-painted a cube van parked behind a strip mall.

"Based on the size and elaborate detail of the tag, it is believed that the suspect would have been at the location for some time," said Cpl. Steve Chubey in a news release.

The second incident occurred between May 8 and 9 in the public washrooms at Wynegaert Park off Gower Point Road.

"Several areas of the sidewalk, hydro poles and fences along Gower Point Road, as well as the bus shelter off Marine Drive were also tagged. The tags appeared much more primitive than those in the first incident," said Chubey.

Chubey said RCMP at this time do not know if the incidents are related.

RCMP are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect(s) involved in either or both of the investigations. Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP at 604-885-2266 or Crimestoppers at 1-604-222-TIPS (8477).
