RCMP investigating rash of break-ins

Sunshine Coast RCMP have break-in suspect(s) on the loose who have been targeting weekend homes on Gambier and Keats islands. In all, RCMP have seven files under investigation since Feb. 11.

Sunshine Coast RCMP have break-in suspect(s) on the loose who have been targeting weekend homes on Gambier and Keats islands.

In all, RCMP have seven files under investigation since Feb. 11. In all cases, the residences were either unoccupied weekend homes or the owners were away on vacation. In some cases, the suspect(s) attempted to disarm the alarm system by removing BC Hydro meters and/or cutting power to the residence. Firearms and electronics have been targeted.

RCMP are hoping the public can aid their investigations and are requesting any information related to the following:

Reports of any suspicious persons or boats in the area of West Bay, Gambier Island on Feb. 9 to 11

Any suspicious persons or boats in the area of Eastbourne, Keats Island on Feb. 15 to 16

Any suspicious persons or vehicles in the 1000 block of Chamberlin Road in Gibsons Feb. 20 to 21.
