Sunshine Coast RCMP are investigating an arson that occurred behind the Roberts Creek Library shortly after midnight Sunday, May 5.
Roberts Creek fire department and RCMP were dispatched to a suspicious fire behind the Roberts Creek library, after a gazebo and picnic tables were set on fire. Cpl. Steve Chubey said witnesses reported hearing a male yelling in the area prior to the discovery of the fire; however police cannot yet say if the incidents are related.
RCMP are continuing their investigation into the matter and are asking anyone with information to call 604-885-2266 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
