Sunshine Coast RCMP have released their Coun-terattack operation statistics for the month of December.
Despite the holidays, RCMP managed to carry out five night-time operations on the Coast, handing out as many as 105 charges in December.
Perhaps most surprising was the number of tickets given out for using an electronic device while driving -only one.
This compares to 31 speeding tickets, two criminal charges for impairment, three roadside seizures for illegal drugs and 17 vehicles with defects.
The last blitz was held on the night of Dec. 30.
Two members managed to hand out four speeding tickets, four failure to stop tickets and two unsafe driving charges, while taking off the road one intoxicated driver and another two who were unlicensed to drive.
