On May 11, Sunshine Coast RCMP conducted a distracted driver and seatbelt operation in Gibsons that yielded nine seatbelt violations and 10 distracted driver (cell phone) violations.
During the May long weekend (May 18 to 21), Sunshine Coast Traffic Services were out in force conducting mobile enforcement patrols as well as some midday Counter-Attack road checks.
"Most of our efforts were concentrated up north to assist in covering May Day [celebrations] and the longboarding events," said Cpl. Steve Chubey, the detachment's media spokesperson.
