Ramp maintenance means Langdale schedule changes April 25-28

Schedule and capacity changes while the Langdale upper ramp gets some TLC

The upper ramp at the Langdale ferry terminal is getting some work done April 25 to 28

Langdale ferry terminal's primary berth will be closed for three days next week, resulting in some schedule changes.

Maintenance on the overhead loading ramp between April 25 and 28 will mean that the Langdale-Horseshoe Bay service will operate out of Langdale's berth two, which allows only for single-deck vehicle loading and unloading.

As there will be only main deck loading, both the Queen of Oak Bay and the Queen of Surrey will service the route – each running at half capacity. There will be twice as many sailings on these two days – the sailings running hourly – so the overall capacity will remain "essentially the same," said a BC Ferries news release.

The move of the Queen of Oak Bay from the Nanaimo route to the Langdale route for those three days will be offset with the use of the Queen of Coquitlam, said the release, requiring temporary changes to that route's schedule as well.
