A man lays on a table crying in agony, surrounded by doctors. He is having his leg amputated without anesthesia. This is Haiti today where relief workers struggle to provide medical and emotional support without the most basic of tools.

Natasha J. Rosewood, local spiritual healer, teacher and author of Aaagh! I Think I'm Psychic (And You Can Be Too) is hosting a two-hour talk and question period on Psychic Awareness Without Borders.

"Though we may have no spare time or money to give to places so far from our culture, we are not powerless to help," Rosewood said. "Come find out how and then empower those closer to home."

Funds raised will go to the organization Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontiers) and medications for Haiti.

The event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Inner Sanctuary, 5802 Marine Way (off Trail just before The Bluff). There is a suggested $15 donation to attend and pre-registration is necessary. For details, call 604-886-5718.
