Proposed mobile home park in West Howe Sound going to public hearing

37 manufactured homes could be coming to West Howe Sound

On March 29, the public is invited to a hearing about a new mobile home park proposal that could bring 37 manufactured homes to Area F (West Howe Sound area). The virtual meeting (which can also be attended by telephone) will provide information about the proposed amendment to the Official Community Plan and zoning bylaw in West Howe Sound. This would be required to change the property’s rural residential designation to allow a mobile home park, and change the zoning from RU2 to RM3. The second part of the proposal also requires a zoning change.

The mobile home park would be located at 2061 Twin Creeks Road, next to Langdale Heights RV Park. The applicant also seeks to redevelop the RV park’s current commercial buildings (at 2170 Port Mellon Highway) to expand use into a restaurant, golf clubhouse, convenience store, billiard room and gym.

People with interest affected by the proposed changes can voice their opinions at the public hearing on March 29 at 7 p.m. or submit their thoughts to the Sunshine Coast Regional District in writing by noon on March 29 at publichearings@scrd.ca.
