On the afternoon of Sept. 4, Sunshine Coast RCMP received a report of possible shots fired near the Mason mine site.
Police attended and located a vehicle with three male occupants. Upon questioning, the males admitted to having been shooting a shotgun in the mine site. Police also learned that the driver of the vehicle was a prohibited driver, so he was given a court date and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days. All three males were intoxicated, so the firearm was seized and the local firearms officer was notified.
