Traffic

Scam
• On Sept. 21, a Coast resident reported a possible scam after answering a job offer email that appeared to be coming from a legitimate overseas company. The job was as a collection agent for delinquent accounts in Canada and would require the resident to deposit funds received from the delinquent accounts into his own account, keep a portion as his commission, and remit the remaining funds to the company. The scammers were using a legitimate company name but had created a fake website as part of their scam. The job offer is a variation on the overpayment scam.
