Sunshine Coast RCMP are seeking the public's help in locating the owner of a bike believed stolen from Roberts Creek.

According to police on Sept. 23, members were speaking with a male cyclist in the Roberts Creek area. Following the conversation a short while later, officers observed the same male now pushing two bikes.

"Police detained and spoke with a male about his possession of the extra bicycle," said Sgt. Russ Howard. "The male admitted that he had taken it from a bike stand in the Roberts Creek area, and that he didn't know who the rightful owner was. The bike in question was seized, and police are now looking for the rightful owner."

Howard said the same individual was also in possession of other items that police suspected may have been stolen from someplace in the neighbourhood, and police are looking for information about any minor thefts or possible break and enters that occurred in Roberts Creek on Sept. 23.

If you are the owner of a stolen bike or have information on any of the other suspected thefts you are asked to contact RCMP at 604-885-2266 and refer to file 2011-6881.
