The Pender Harbour Advisory Council has cancelled the panel discussion scheduled for May 20 in Madeira Park.
The session was billed as an opportunity for the public to ask questions about the shíshálh (Sechelt) First Nation’s plans for Pender Harbour, and Chief Calvin Craigan (híwús) was announced as one of the panelists.
Last week, however, advisory council president Steve Luchkow said he was informed that Chief Craigan and the Band council had been asked to attend a meeting in Victoria on the same day and could not be present for the Pender Harbour event.
Other panelists included MP John Weston, MLA Nicholas Simons and Sunshine Coast Regional District Area A director Frank Mauro.
