As staffing shortages continue to disrupt services on the lower Sunshine Coast, the District of Sechelt announced the scheduled organics pick-ups for the week of Aug. 8 to 12 will be missed because of a shortage of waste pickup drivers.
Residential blue bin recycling will still be collected, Sechelt said on Aug. 3.
"We know this is an inconvenience for residents — thank you for your understanding and commitment to keeping local wildlife safe," the District's statement read.
The missed service means both organic green bins and yard waste will not be collected. The District asks residents to mitigate wildlife encounters by storing bins in a secure location.
Free drop-off of organics is accepted at Waste Management and Salish Soils. Find information at Sechelt.ca.
