School District No. 46 (SD46) has hired a new secretary treasurer to join their team for the 2011/12 school year.
Nicholas Weswick will start his new position in October, taking over for assistant secretary treasurer John Pritchard, who will hold down the fort until he arrives.
"I'm very excited to be joining the team at the Sunshine Coast school district, and look forward to working with the board of education, district staff and community partners to support learning and learners in the years to come," Weswick said.
Weswick is originally from Vancouver Island and holds a bachelor of business administration degree with distinction. He also completed the certified general accountant program with the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia and has experience working in the Peace River school district.
In Peace River, Weswick was responsible for managing teams and overseeing finance functions. He has been involved with project management, facilities planning and the development and implementation of several district initiatives.
"Nicholas Weswick brings strong interpersonal, management and accounting and analytical skills to our school district," said superintendent of schools Patrick Bocking.
