New principal for Madeira Park

Krangle is an experienced teacher and educational leader who started his teaching career in the Sunshine Coast School District in 1978. He has taught at the intermediate level at Cedar Grove, Davis Bay, West Sechelt and Roberts Creek elementary schools. During the 2002/03 school year, he taught in Guadalajara, Mexico in a K-Grade 12 school.

He has also taken on leadership roles as teacher-in-charge and staff representative at Roberts Creek Elementary School. He is well known in the school district for his innovative teaching, coaching, musical performances and his energy and enthusiasm.

"I am excited to work with the Pender Harbour community and the staff at Madeira Park Elementary School," he said.

RCMP investigate break-ins on Nelson Island

Sunshine Coast RCMP are continuing to investigate a rash of break-ins that have occurred on Nelson Island.

On May 3, a seasonal residence on Nelson Island was broken into.

Video surveillance captured the images of two males and a 16-foot white or light grey inflatable boat with a four-foot mast flying a black and white flag.

The first suspect is described as Caucasian male, 30 to 40 years old, red rain suit. The second suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 30 to 40 years old, white and blue jacket, red pants, black hat, white running shoes. Suspects made off with a red chainsaw and other hand tools.

On June 28, three break and enters were reported to have occurred in seasonal residents on Nelson Island. Two outboard motors and other boating equipment were stolen. It is unknown if these break and enters were committed by the same suspects.
