High school principal and vice-principal positions for the 2013-14 school year have been finalized, and a few changes are on the way.

Principal Mark Heidebrecht will leave Pender Harbour Secondary to take on the principal role at Chatelech Secondary School.

He will take over for Fred Thorsell, who will be leaving the school district.

"I want to thank the school community of Pender Harbour for their support over the last two years," Heidebrecht said.

"I also appreciate the opportunity to move to Chatelech Secondary School and work with the staff, students and school community."

Paul Bishop, who has been vice-principal at Elphinstone Secondary School, will take over the principal's position in Pender.

In Bishop's time with SD46 he has also served as vice-principal of the Sunshine Coast Alternative School and was the principal of distributed learning and apprenticeships.

He has also taught at Kinnikinnick Elementary and Chatelech Secondary schools.

"I'm very pleased for this opportunity and look forward to working with the students, staff and community in Pender Harbour," he said.

Kate Kerr has been appointed as vice-principal at Elphinstone Secondary School.

She has worked as a special education teacher at the high school since 2011, and before that she spent 11 years as an English teacher with the Langley School District.

"I am delighted and honoured to have this opportunity to collaborate in a new capacity with the caring, knowledgeable and dedicated staff, administration, students and parents of Elphinstone Secondary," she said.
