A proposed 60-unit condominium project for Davis Bay's waterfront beside Pier 17 will be going to another public hearing this Thursday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Sechelt Library building.
The hearing is to discuss amending the official community plan and zoning in the area to allow the structure to be built.
This project, put forward by Chris Moore of Davis Bay Development Inc., has been debated at the council table before and has been to a public hearing as well. However, councillors said they felt the community needed another forum to voice concerns and work out building issues if possible.

Tennis proposal
The Sunshine Coast Racquet Club went before planning Tuesday asking the district to partner in a new venture with the Sechelt Indian Band to provide a tennis facility near Ted Dixon Memorial Park.
The racquet club also asked that the previous offer by the district of land beside the arena for the building of a new tennis facility be placed back on the table in case the Ted Dixon Memorial Park facility doesn't come to fruition.
Council asked staff to look into the situation to see if partnering with the Sechelt Indian Band is a possibility and to see if the original site offered to the racquet club in 2003 could be resurrected.
Grow op bylaw
Councillors authorized a draft bylaw at a planning meeting on Tuesday, created to place "the onus for inspection, notification and restoration of rental houses that have been used for the production of controlled substances onto property owners."
The district is looking into partnering with B.C. Hydro to shut off the power to a home once a grow operation or controlled substance lab has been discovered in a rental property. Power would not be restored until the property owner fulfilled all the restoration requirements by the District of Sechelt.
