On Wednesday, March 9, at 7 p.m. at the Gibsons Public Library, Heinz Tigges and Peter Mason present Keep Sharp, a demonstration of easy methods to maintain your hand tools. With these fun presenters, the session promises to be anything but dull.

This is the fourth of a four-part series co-sponsored by the Botanical Garden Society and the library in celebration of the library's 90 birthday.

The society has another event slated for March 12.

Nothing beats the flavour or sense of well-being you get from serving fresh-picked home grown fruit, vegetables and herbs. To help your success rate with seed selection, timing and best methods of growing, the society offers a two-hour workshop.

Expert Mike Nassichuk presents Tips for a Better Vegetable Garden at the Frank West Hall in Gibsons from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., including slides, demonstrations and plenty of answers to your questions. Nassichuk knows how to grow, and so will you. Registration is required, so secure your spot by calling 604-886-4895. More information on both events can be found at www.coastbotanicalgarden.org.
