Two people were sent to hospital following a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in Madeira Park.
On Aug. 10 around 4 p.m., Sunshine Coast RCMP, the Madeira Park fire department and BC Ambulance paramedics responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle, near the 12000 block of Highway 101 in Madeira Park.
"The motorcycle was traveling northbound on the Sunshine Coast Highway, and had just rounded a curve, when an on-coming car went over the centre line," said Cpl. Steve Chubey in a news release. "The motorcyclist took evasive action in order to avoid a head-on collision. As a result, the motorcyclist and his female passenger were both thrown from the bike. The driver of the motorcycle sustained a minor injury to his arm; however the female passenger needed to be airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital with a serious arm injury."
Chubey said the driver of the on-coming car was issued a violation ticket for 'crossing a double solid line'.
