Sunshine Coast RCMP are alerting the public to a report of a domestic bull possibly loose in the West Sechelt area.
On Sunday, Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. RCMP learned that after the owner had made an attempt to put the animal down for health reasons, the wounded bull escaped from a West Sechelt rural property. Police and local residents made attempts to locate the animal in and around the trails near the power lines between West Sechelt and Shorncliffe Avenue, however all parties were unsuccessful in locating the animal.
Const. Tracy Dubnyk said it is likely the bull succumbed to its injuries in the woods. As of Monday afternoon, Aug. 17, further efforts were being taken by the owner to locate the bull.
If a member of the public locates the animal, they are asked to not approach it and to contact RCMP immediately at 604-885-2266.
