Are you looking for a list of titles by your favourite author or a list of authors who write in a similar style and genre?

"Gibsons and District Public Library (GDPL) has recently updated its library website at www.gdpl.scrd.

bc.ca and added some exciting and useful online services to its existing electronic resources," says chief librarian Michelle Southam.

Click on Electronic Resources to find the Novelist website which offers a reader's advisory reviewing over 120,000 fiction titles. Parents, teachers and young people from Kindergarten to Grade 8 will want to investigate the Novelist K-8 database, a comprehensive guide to booklists and materials for all grade levels, including picture books, chapter books and young adult titles.

For the researcher and older student, the Canadian Reference Centre offers full-text magazine articles, newswire services, reference books and select Canadian newspapers for quick access to current information. This database is a work-in-progress with more newspapers being added frequently. Users will require their new Gibsons library card number to log on to the Can Ref site.

These new services complement the existing electronic resources of legal, medical, statistical and business information available through the GDPL website.
