Kayak stolen from Irvines Landing property

On Feb. 16, a Coast resident reported a theft of kayak that occurred sometime since late January. The suspect stole the kayak from a property in the 4200 block of Packalen Boulevard, Irvines Landing. The stolen kayak is described as a dark green Sundolphin Excursion 10 model. Anyone with any information about this theft is asked to contact RCMP, reference police file 2021-1029.

Impaired Driving

• On Feb. 10, police attended a single-vehicle incident near Gibsons Way and Fairmont Road, Gibsons, after witnesses reported a vehicle in the ditch. The uninjured driver, who displayed possible signs of intoxication from alcohol, was given a roadside alcohol screening test. After two failed results, the driver was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Property Found

• On Feb. 22, a bike found in the middle of the 5600 block of Cowrie Street, Sechelt, was turned in. Owner may claim within 90 days with detailed description. Please reference police file 2021-1143.

Property Lost

• On Feb. 22, an iPhone 8 was lost in the 5500 block of Sunshine Coast Highway, Sechelt. The iPhone 8 is black on the top and is a bronze or copper colour. There is a cracked screen film on it and tape covering the camera. Anyone with any information is asked to contact RCMP, reference police file 2021-1145.
