Sunshine Coast RCMP are still investigating a two-vehicle MVA that closed Hwy. 101 for more than six hours last Thursday (March 10).
Just after 2:30 p.m., police responded to the accident that occurred immediately south of the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club.
A female driver was airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital for what was believed to be serious injuries. Since then, the driver was released from hospital after her injuries were determined to not be as serious as first feared.
The second driver was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Sechelt with non-life threatening injuries.
Const. Newman said the highway was closed for such a long time while a traffic analyst arrived to begin the investigation.Newman said speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
