IHIT investigates homicide

Selma Park

On Oct. 1, just before 1:30 a.m., the Sunshine Coast RCMP, along with BC Ambulance Service, attended a residence in the 5200 block of Selma Park Road in Sechelt.

A 67-year-old deceased female was located who appeared to have injuries consistent with foul play. The Sunshine Coast RCMP located and arrested a suspect at the scene and the 47-year-old male is currently in custody. Homicide related charges are pending.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called and has assumed conduct.

“I can tell you that this incident does not appear to be a random attack and that the suspect and victim were known to each other. While the motive has not been confirmed, it appears to be domestic related, “said Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound, IHIT.
