Linda Lorraine Howe, charged with 10 offences, including three counts of attempted murder, in connection with the alleged shooting March 31 at Christenson Village in Gibsons, will make her next court appearance on June 15.

Howe appeared in Sechelt provincial court on May 20 via video link from the Surrey pre-trial centre, where her case was adjourned. The June 15 appearance will be used to set a bail hearing.

Hall adjourned

Marianne Hall, who is facing several charges related to an alleged theft from the Sea Cavalcade committee, will be back in court on June 3.

Sunshine Coast RCMP recently laid charges against Hall, who is the former treasurer of the committee. According to police, she allegedly wrote cheques to herself from 2003 to 2006. She is facing charges of fraud, forgery, uttering forged documents and theft as a result of a police investigation that started in 2008.

B&E suspect

A trial date has been set for Elissa Joe, 39, who faces charges of break and enter in connection to an alleged theft in Sechelt.

On May 8, a women's boutique in the 5600 block of Cowrie Street was broken into. Several thousand dollars worth of clothing, purses and jewellery were stolen. Police located the majority of the stolen goods near the scene where they arrested Joe. Her trial is slated to start June 2.

Charges stayed

All charges against Trevor Joe, 26, of Sechelt have been stayed in connection to an alleged assault in Sechelt on March 19.

Crown counsel Trevor Cockfield confirmed the details last week saying only the Crown's case "did not come together" at trial. He said Joe was released from custody.

The other man charged in the incident, Harley Joe, 23, of Sechelt, pled guilty to a charge of possession of a dangerous weapon and two charges of possession of a controlled substance. Cockfield said Harley has also been released from custody, as he spent seven weeks in jail. As a condition of his release, Cockfield said he received time served plus probation and a firearms prohibition.

Preliminary hearing

A preliminary hearing has been set for Oct. 5 in provincial court to deal with two suspects in connection with an alleged home invasion in January.

Salvatore Bitoni, 32, from Madeira Park and Dustin Da Costa, 25, from Nanaimo are facing numerous charges including weapons offences and break and enter for an incident that allegedly took place at a home in Sechelt.

Two men armed with a shotgun entered the home on Heron Place where a male occupant of the home was accosted. The man managed to get out of the house, while a female resident and a young child hid from the perpetrators. No one was hurt in the incident.
