Sunshine Coast Hospice Society is asking for the community’s support to help raise $80,000 in essential funding to operate their programs and services for the year. This would be a new record for the charity’s annual event, which will finish on Saturday, Aug. 14.
Already off to a great start, the Hospice Society has collected $26,000 in sponsorships from many local companies. But the charity still needs the community’s support to help them reach their fundraising goal. After a year of social isolation, Hospice hopes the community will come together and dedicate a hike, walk, ride or some other activity while raising funds for Hospice services.
“The money we raise annually through this event will help us to expand our service offerings on the Coast, such as a new palliative day program and our Green Sleeve advance care planning initiative for all community members,” said Katie Clogg, philanthropy and communications manager.
“We invite everyone to participate and be a part of our caring community.”
