Capilano College mountain bike operations students are hosting the hail the trails event, a series of three trail maintenance days, and are looking for support from the community.

Event days are Sunday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at the B&K Road and power lines in Roberts Creek where the Guys Gulch trail will be worked on; Saturday, March 29, at 10 a.m. at the B&K Road and power lines in Roberts Creek where the Black Tower trail will be worked on; and Sunday, April 13, at 10 a.m. at the Sprockids Skills Park in Gibsons (top of bypass from ferry).

All three days will run until 3 p.m. Interested volunteers are asked to come when you can, for as long as you can. Late comers can meet at the trailheads or at the Sprockids Skills Park.

Hail the trails is a community event for anyone who has a passion for mountain biking, hiking and/or the outdoors and wants to give back to the trails by lending a hand in keeping them maintained and sustainable.

These trail days go ahead, rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather and for outdoor work: sturdy work boots or shoes, pants that can get dirty, warm layers and a waterproof jacket. Bring your own lunch, lots of water and any tools that you may have handy. Trail building and maintenance tools will be provided as needed. Light snacks and drinks will be provided along with prizes at the end of each day.
