Gibsons council approves second cannabis store rezoning application

Second cannabis store in Gibsons gets the green light from council, meeting town criteria and provincial licensing requirements.
Gibsons Municipal Hall

The second of two existing cannabis store rezoning applications in Gibsons was adopted during its May 6 regular meeting of council.

The store, located at 1095 Sunshine Coast Highway, was one of two stores operating with non-conforming use after temporary use permits issued from the town expired.

The second cannabis store applying for rezoning received its adoption from council in early April.

The store meets the town’s locational criteria, being more than 100 metres away from any elementary school or other cannabis store, and has provincial non-medical cannabis retail licence posted on site.

Council approved the motion unanimously.
